According to Prof. Amsal Bachtiar, the Head of Steering Committee for this year&#8217;s AICIS, the conference will be discussing religion, environmental challenges, and technological transformation. These are top priorities in the Ministry championed by Indonesia\u2019s Minister of Religious Affairs, Prof. Nasaruddin Umar. \u201cWe hope this year&#8217;s AICIS will provide a forum for scholars to present cutting-edge research on relevant subjects,\u201d he added.<\/p><p>Topics will include the economic potential of Muslim communities and government efforts to bolster national waqf programs, which involve charitable endowments under Islamic law.<\/p><p>\u201cAICIS is a stage for academic actualization, but it\u2019s also a call to action,\u201d Professor Kamaruddin said. He urged scholars, particularly from Indonesia\u2019s Islamic Higher Education Institutions, to engage in shaping religious authority by addressing contemporary Islamic issues in Indonesia and globally.<\/p><p>Dr. Chaider Bamualim, the UIII University Secretary, who is also the Head of 2025 AICIS Organizing Committee (OC), applauded the initiative from the Ministry.<\/p><p>\u201cThe recommendations from this conference should guide forward-thinking religious policies and national initiatives,\u201d he said, highlighting the need for outcomes that resonate beyond academia.<\/p><p>With hundreds of participants expected from Indonesia and abroad, Professor Kamaruddin\u2019s vision positions AICIS 2025 as a pivotal moment for Islamic studies to influence both
