AICIS+ is the rebranded evolution of the Annual International Conference on Islamic Studies (AICIS), now known as the Annual International Conference on Islam, Science and Society. Organized by the Directorate General of Islamic Education, Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, it is hosted at the Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) campus in Depok, West Java, from October 29–31, 2025. The rebranding to AICIS+ reflects an expanded focus on interdisciplinary dialogue, integrating Islamic studies with science, ecotheology, and societal challenges. It brings together scholars, researchers, and innovators to explore Islam’s role in addressing global issues like technology, sustainability, and equity.
The grand theme is “Islam, Ecotheology and Technological Transformation: Multidisciplinary Innovations for an Equitable and Sustainable Future.” It emphasizes Islamic environmental ethics, technological advancements, and interdisciplinary solutions for justice and sustainability, aligning with global issues like climate change and equitable development.

The conference is open to academics, researchers, students, policymakers, and professionals interested in Islamic studies, ecotheology, technology, sustainability, and related fields. Both presenters and non-presenting attendees are welcome.
Follow this submission timeline:
• Extended Abstract (750–1,000 words): Submit your extended abstract between July 3 and August 15, 2025, via the AICIS+ website.
• Full Paper Submission: If your abstract is accepted, the full paper must be submitted by September 29, 2025. Please note that papers submitted after this deadline will not be considered for publication in AICIS+’ affiliated journals or other publication outlets.
• Submission Format: Use the official template provided on the AICIS+ website, and ensure your paper addresses one of the conference sub-themes.
All submissions will undergo a peer-review process, and selected presenters will be notified on August 29, 2025.

The conference will take place at the Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) campus in Depok, West Java, Indonesia. Specific venue details and accommodation options will be available on the AICIS+ website closer to the event.
The keynote speakers will be announced soon on the AICIS+ 2025 website. They include leading academics, activists, and professionals who are experts in the fields of religion, science and technology, as well as environmental and societal issues.
Registration opens in July 2025 via the AICIS+ portal on the UIII website. Participation in AICIS+ is free of charge.
Yes, AICIS+ 2025 will offer both in-person and limited virtual attendance options. Virtual participants can access live-streamed sessions and engage in select discussions. Details on virtual access will be provided during registration.
The conference builds on the Istiqlal Declaration, emphasizing Islam’s role in fostering peace, sustainability, and global collaboration. The 2025 theme integrates these principles with contemporary issues like ecotheology and technological innovation, reinforcing AICIS+’s commitment to impactful discourse.
Selected papers may be considered for publication in a special issue of a peer-reviewed journal or an edited volume affiliated with AICIS+. Details will be shared with accepted presenters after the conference.
